A celebration of Black culture, the Activities period event February 25 was planned in lieu of typical Spirit Day plans. The festival included music, games of 4-square, jump rope, cornhole and UNO, a cookie giveaway from black-owned snack company, Partake, and a visit from black-owned and operated food truck, Icecapade. BSU and spirit club leaders Katrina A., D’yasia F., Zee C. and Livy E., planned the event for their peers, with BSU members making many colorful posters in preparation for the event. “It was a beautiful, sunny day perfect for the Italian ice and ice pops” stated D’yasia F.
